breeding of young horses brood mares horse retirees regeneration of diseased horses

Pasture Season

During pasture season the horses are split up into fitting groups. Young horses are being grouped by age, gender and eventually size, brood mare by the date of their foaling and social preferences and the retirees by gender. Should problems occure, the groups will be regrouped until we have a good solution. For those horses not being able to integrate into a group, there is always the possibilty of giving them a single pasture.

Each group is being checked daily and if necessary (e.g. in case of sickness or lameness) brought into the stables.

The pastures are also checked regularly after fences, water and mineral mash.
The fences are ca. 1.5m high and equipped with electronic wire.

Stable Season

During stable season there are three different groups in each of the stable. We also separate after age and gender. Depending on customer prefernce, single boxes are always feasible.
The horses get mineral mash and can gormandize hay ab libitum.

The boses are in a huge interior room with deep bedding, dirtless watering places and cratches. In the canopied runout the horses run on solid, skid-proof ground and are being fed here with hay.

Also in winter time the horses can daily go onto the pasture, except the weather is especially bad (like continous rain).

Vet and blacksmith

We take care of anthelmintic therapies, follow up immunization and the blacksmith. There is a VET in the village which guarantees posthaste first aid.
The veterinarian clinic of Alt Sammit takes care of all the special therapies of the horses.

Brood Mares
The brood mares are taken care of starting with the insemination, foaling and supervision of the foal itself. There are special boxes for foaling and after an individual period mare and foal will get back into a fitting group. The foals are being guided with head-collar and halter and also regularly being watched by the blacksmith.

Education

The education of the horses will be available during spring 2009. We offer breaking in of young horses and free jumping starting January 2009. However the breaking will be available in specific months only (according to personal agreements).

Breaking in of young horses / Free jumping

Starting winter 08-09 we are going to have a small indoor riding area. At this point of time we would like to offer our customers to free jump their horses and after consultation with the customer breaking in the young horses as well. The breaking in of young horses will be offered in certain months.
